Our Lady of The Miracles of Caacupe

The story of Our Lady of the Miracles of Caacupe, in which a Native man carves a statue of the Virgin Mary in exchange for being saved from a storm, is an example of divine inspiration. Rather than being a gift, the creation of the statue is willingly taken on by a Native as a show of faith. The Lady of Caacupe is kept in the Diocese of Caacupe, a major religious center of Paraguay and the sight of a major festival in her honor on December 8th each year.
